Steve Jobs died yesterday. Pretty much everyone with access to any media knows this by now. He revolutionized technology. Fred Shuttlesworth also died yesterday. I'm sad that it is barely a blip on the news, as a result of Steve Jobs. I'm not trying to take away from Steve Jobs - he was an amazing innovator and my life wouldn't be the same without him. There aren't many men like him. And it is particularly sad that he was only 56 and his 4 kids don't have a dad any more.

However, I wish Fred Shuttlesworth got more air time. He was a civil rights leader in the 60s, right up there with MLK Jr. He revolutionized American society, especially southern society. He refused to let certain "ways of life" remain, despite being beaten and threatened repeatedly, and from what I can discern, he did it as a result of understanding the gospel. As with Steve Jobs, my life wouldn't be the same without him, and there aren't many men like him. Learn more about him here.

We need people like Steve Jobs and Fred Shuttlesworth. They improve life for everyone.
