Kindergarten Pumpkin Patch

Today Anna's class walked to the local pumpkin patch for their first field trip, and I joined as a chaperone. I never thought I'd be one of those parents who wants to go everywhere with my kids, but I am! I really love seeing all the kids and how they interact - good, bad, and loud. We are so pleased with Anna's experience with Kindergarten thus far, and we're really enjoying watching her learn a ton and grow into being a "big kid". She loves showing off her ability and that she can read all the 1st grade words. She loves all the different aspects of school - music, art, playing with new kids. We are a bit concerned that she claim to have 3 boyfriends, but her dad will keep an eye on that!

The best thing I heard yesterday was from the little girl that was assigned to walk with us. She seemed very quiet, so I was asking her some easy questions. Then randomly she said, "Anna plays with me." I like that. I hope Anna is always the kid who plays with everyone, including the quiet kids. (I just don't want her to think she needs 3 boyfriends. Whatever.)

I know we'll supplement the education as we discern what areas aren't her strengths, as I don't expect a teacher to be able to notice everything about every student. Mostly, we want her to be a happy well adjusted little girl who knows God loves her. What an adventure this parenting thing is!
